>>re.fuel
October 29, 2007
>>TODAY was the first day of our new project called: >>re.fuel. No longer do we have “prayer group/prayermeeting” or “worship” we have >>re.fuel. We still do pray and worship don’t get me wrong, but now we occur on Mondays, Wednsdays, and Fridays. We now want to focus on seeing students being changed. Our scripture we started was Hebrews 12:29 that says “Our God is a consuming fire.” Everyone gets excited about “fire” but this isn’t and instanteous fire, the Hebrew word fir this fire is a slow fire that purifies, and changes. Our God wants to change students and teachers. Not just one experience.
We also played a game of “Christian Goose.” Kind of like duck, duck, goose except I told the students this morning that when I tapped you, you were the Christain. Everyone started laughing and got very scared and excited. I made two laps around them and didn’t take anyone and I asked “wasn’t that fun?” They all just laughed and stared at me. I proceeded to explain to them the pin I wore on my jacket today that said “less than 4.” This represented the statistic that less than 4 percent of this generation will come to know Jesus Christ.” I told them that we can’t even play “Christian goose” today because even with the number we saw this morning, not one full person could account as a percent. It went very well I can’t wait to see what God has in store for what is going to happen. Its a real challenge to wake students up and excite them for Christ. Man this whole >>re.fuel thing is going to be gooooood.

>>(silence)….that’s all I can say. Inferno this year was absolutely amazing. I prayed that not only God would change our youth group but that He would change me and He did. Inferno was filled with a lot of innovative things such as: ligthing effects, music, drums that ascended into the air and hung at about an ninety degree angle!!! So it was exciting, but the Spirit was so powerful there it amazed me. (this might be a longer post so hold on)
The first night was filled with amazing ligthing (as said before) and many things that just rocked, but as soon as it was time to preach, Bro Wayne Francis did a tremendous job preaching about “Never Forget.” He spoke how we need tko remember who we are, stop looking at the negative in our past and look at the good. Those late prayer times, those times we read teh Bible when we didn’t “feel” like it, etc. That message changed me.
Then we had a session called AfterBurn which was located at a local college that was rented out by Impact student ministry and it was filled with a plethora of bands for every genre that were making a difference for Christ.
Then Saturday morning was just phenomoenal time of worship. We sang the brand new Hillsong from Valley By the Sea ”To Know Your Name” and “Jesus Paid it All.” It was just amazing how people were so involved in the worship. You think sometimes about worship can be initiated in large church settings such as theirs, but it was just amazing. The preaching that afternoon was just as good. It was about “knowing the giver.” Sometimes Christians want the gift and lose sight of the “giver” who is God.

Want to give special thanks to My Pastor for allowing us to go, Youth pastor for bareing through the trip, Bro Francis and Bro Palmer for preaching those amazing messages, and Bro Emery for being such a visionary.

>>well, it was a long trip full of “not” sleeping, and many fun jokes. All we have done so far is go shopping at the local mall here in Michigian, since we had to wait to get in our hotel rooms, but everyones is extremel excited about tonight. Inferno is: a conference where youth groups can find insight, vision, and here the some of the best youth ministers to date. I hope that no one leaves the same tonight and that we all leave with some fresh vision. And I pray that God does something in my life too. I want to get good ideas and stuff, but I want to the supernatural to happen in my life also. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up with some “gold in the temple” that we forget about what the gold glorifies. I don’t want to forget.
