>> In Lamentations 1: nine Jeremiah is telling about how Jerusalem has forsaken God and gone (once again) after idols; and how God has turned Jerusalem into picture of “what once was.” A city that was once great. A city that was once blessed. A city that was once full of greatness. But when you take a look at this scripture, the Bible says that the fall of Jerusalem was “awesome” because of what? Because she forgot her destiny. God offered his people the opportunity to be awesome at what ever they did. But instead of following an awesome destiny in being the people and land of God, they followed right into an awesome calamity.
We can’t get caught up in things to where we miss our destiny in God. Our future is what propels us forward. We have to constantly look forward to what God has in store for us and what He has called us to do. We can either have a great: ministry, family, and life, or we can begin to lose or sight of our destiny in God and begin to worship other things as people watch us take an awesome fall.
